Just had a marvellous idea, plugging in an old external HDD onto my old XBOX360. Formatted it in FAT32, booted up my XBOX but... it won't show up?! (Except the usual storage, 120GB) Plugged in another HDD and that one WOULD show up (but it contains important stuff like movies and the such.......) What did I do wrong? (USB cable works normally btw)
what is your external hard drive model? all external hard drives have basically a sata or ide controller in them. It is an electronic PCB that initializes the drive. It sounds like the xbox 360 is not agreeing with that, or it maybe broken or you formatted it wrong but if that were the case then it should say "unformatted" in they xbox360 system>storage menu. Make sure your USB cable is good and solid connections.
It's a Conceptronic Grab'n'Go CHD3FWU320 320GB When I plug this into my PC, it's just OK and running fine!
