I signed up just to post it does not work in the USA for OTA terrestrial EPG data.
The program the few times I got it to actually try scanning, conks out with multiple errors. Yes I downloaded 4.3 and the MSI install file.
It seems to have only DISHNETWORK for the USA as collection , so when it starts scanning of course you dont have DishNetwork and so the frequencies on ny ATSC use just OTA frequencies, I dont have a DishNetwork box.. Even if I unselect all TV cards for DVB, and just select any available for ATSC terrestrial, it still tries to scan DishNetwork frequecies.
Then sometimes I get numerous BDA errors. It is too bad as MS has now discontinued the ROVI guide, so for me this program is a dud.

There is something that we can use but its $25 per year. EPG123 and schedules direct.

Thanks for sharing the solution to the issue for North American users!

Phillip above you posted a solution for North American users, hopefully that also works for you!

I will eventually look at this again, but for now went with schedules direct and EPG123 for the coming year which worked fine.

I glanced at that thread and sort of found a link to a procedural PDF to follow, but the poster said he had left out steps and I dont think he updated the pdf. What I need is fully complete setup guide, and not assuming I already know something, so many guides on various things are incomplete. Maybe give it some more time to perfect the process.

Hi there, I joined this forum just to let you know that, through the weird priorities of Google, I did find this page and your tutorial works perfectly. (UK Freeview, win 8.1)
I had put it off for as long as possible, as I never had any trouble with the guide, but when they did pull the plug you saved my bacon.
Thank you for taking the time to write it all up, and a big thanks to the clever sod who wrote the collector in the first place :)

Hi, I just joined the forum too as I wanted to thank you for this tutorial. I recently found out that the EPG had stopped working on my parents media center and I soon found out it was due to Microsoft ended support for Windows Media Center EPG. Oh well, I should've seen that coming. As my dad is in his 60s (and a 10+ year user of windows media center), I tried to found a solution for this issue, until I can switch him over to a Media Portal or another long term solution.

I found your guide by accident but then realised that the DVB-T frequencies were listed for Denmark, where we are located. The biggest challenge was adding these frequencies. Afterwards, I followed your guide and it actually worked really well! Thank you for that. I doubt I would have figured it out myself.

I had an issue with EPG collector adding some "AutoGenerated" EPG data to the MCE list, even though I excluded those channels.

Another quirk is I had to map the channels manually, using the <Channel_name>-EPG Collector before the EPG data was listed.

I don't believe it does unfortunately, from what I gather, you need WMC running on Windows 7 or 8 to import the XML TV guide from EPG Collector.
