My laptop has an IrDa port built-in and I wanted to connect my 360 controller to it but I'm not sure how. I'm running WinXp and I thought if I set the Ir codes on the laptop to the Ir signal the wireless controller gives out I could hook it up through that instead of buying the wireless dongle. I also thought that I might even be able to connect my wireless mouse receiver to the 360 controller.

    Anyone have any ideas?

P.S. It's the Compaq Presario 900 and it's the controller that comes with the 360.

Sadly that’s not going to work, The 360’s controller is wireless not infrared, The two are not compatible.

The only way to use the 360 controller on the pc at the moment is to buy the wireless gaming receiver or use a wired 360 controller.
