    Windows 7 on Acer Ferrari 4005WLMi.
    I have upgraded from Windows XP Home to Windows 7 Professional.
    This has created real problems.
    The CD crive Panasonic Matshita UJ845S has stopped working along with my card reader.
    I have downloaded all latest drivers from Texas Instruments, upgraded with the latest detals and recovery methods I can thin of, including copying the Recovery disks and system disks to my Dell notebook in an attempt to reinstall the origional operating system.
    Nothing appears to work and as I cannot use the CD player I cannot load the programmes I want to work with.
    I have;
    Deleleted drivers and used 'update driver. Used Windows update.
    updated chipset drivers.
    Spoken with Acer on the premium call line.
    Nothing appears to work in what was a brilliant machine before upgrade.
    Any help would be welcome.

    Use another computer to download pro corporate, integrate any SATA drivers you may need, boot off of said disc, format and reinstall Windows XP.

    If you want to keep Windows 7, it's your chipset drivers causing issues, if you're really struggling, I'm sure you could use the driverpacks from driverpacks.net to get stuff working.

    You can't upgrade from Windows XP to Windows 7.

    So you carnt, my bad i forgot about that (A)

    You could try using the Mobility Modder tool, this will mod the latest ATI Catalyst desktop drivers to work on laptops. It worked perfectly on Windows Vista for me and updated the graphics and chipset drivers which solved all the problems I had.

    It looks to have been updated for Windows 7 so its worth giving it a shot.
