Android on a Netbook

Here is something i found when randomly browsing the internet, Android x86, basically a port of Googles Android OS for Netbooks.

Its fun to play with, especially if you have never used an Android based phone for more than 5 minutes before. Android works pretty well on a netbook surprisingly, it will pickup my neighbors WI-FI and connect to my mobile phone via Bluetooth.

Any phone features like the inbox just error when loading them up, however you can access the Android app store and download applications. The web browser works fine and is quite snappy, not really too sure about the games i think they need a touch screen.

As my Netbook has no DVD drive i downloaded UNetbootin and made a bootable SD card with Android on.

I shall play around with it some more at a later date.

Runs fine on the Asrock ION 330. Video is a bit laggy, though still works fine. Ethernet is even working!

Some games are touch, not really sure if a touchscreen would work for it though. There are also other games that are based on the level of the phone, if it were flat and then leaned one way or another, so those would probably never work.

Apparently you can use a USB mouse to emulate touch features, I will have to try it again at some point.

i had android pr installed on my acer aspire one but dousent have the calling feature but dont use it as i only have pre-paid broadband and it wont install but its a good os
