I recently bought a new DS Lite and was wondering what was the best brand of screen protector before it gets any use. I'm more than a decade late to the party, so I'm unsure of the quality of such things. Thank you.
Do you really need one for a console with a clamshell design? close the lid and the screen is protected when the DS is not in use. If anything a case would be better to keep the DS in when not in use, or when your travelling. Hori make quality Nintendo accessories, so i'd be tempted to look at something by them: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Screen-protector-Nintendo-DS-lite/dp/B000EN2B1Y
I'm afraid the stylus would wear on the screen. My sister has one and the damage shows. You would be correct if it was a GBA SP, though.
I'm not getting a a screen protector. I made that mistake with my DS Phat and it looked gross. If you can't stick it on right the first time it looks terrible. Plus I found the screen is really durable if you're just gentle with it. NOT. BASHING MECHANICS. THE. SCREEN. LIKE. THIS. Of course, I didn't get Hori. I'm still not sold though.
I'd agree with Bitcohen, my general option is screen protectors usually make a screen look bad. I've used my DS Lite for 10+ years without one. I've also used my current phone for 4+ years without one. This does have some very minor scratches you have to be looking for when the screen is off to see. When the screen is on it looks fine. I guess you could try a screen protector and see how you feel.
