Duke Nukem Forever Still In Development

According to developer 3D Realms, DNF is still being worked on. This bit of info was found in court documents regarding the franchise and reads, "[3D Realms/Apogee Ltd.] admits that it has continually worked on the development of the DNF for many years, and continues to do so".

Another piece of Duke Nukem info recently came from Take-Two as well. The company revealed that they had been working on another Duke Nukem game, Duke Begins. They had started the game back in 2007, but it was scrapped back in April of this year. Many people wonder why Take-Two would waste so much money on not just one, but two Duke Nukem projects. Whether or not we will see DNF released still remains to be seen, but 3D Realms says it will happen so all we can do is sit back and wait.

I would have to have the game sitting here on my desk for me to believe it’s ever been finished.

The game has been in development longer than I’ve owned a PC, we have also seen game and movie trilogies been created in the time Duke Nukem forever hasn’t been finished!

Exactly. I just find it hard to believe that it's still in development given the fact that millions and millions of dollars have been put into this project. Why put more into it? I doubt 3D Realms would get that kind of return from the sales if it ever gets released.

Duke Nukem goes back to the early 90s if my memory serves me right.

The very first one came out in 1991 and DNF has been in development since 1997.

So 12 years on since its development began and theres been virtually no progress. I don't get why people are even bothered about it. If or when it is released, it probably won't offer anything new or original but will be hailed as a masterpiece no matter what it turns out to be like, just because it has the name "Duke Nukem" on it. Thats my prediction for it anyway. Not saying that it'll be a bad game, I just think people shouldn't get there hopes up about it.

The amount of time spent developing Duke Nukem Forever it would need to change the way games are played for it to live up to the hype.

Hey as you say it could still be a great game, IF (and its a big IF) the game is ever released I can see quite a few people been disappointed.

That supposed leaked screenshot of the game the other month did look good though I must admit. Looks a bit like Gears of War.
