Downgrading from windows vista.

    Can someone help. Im running windows vista on a laptop and want to downgrade it to xp cos its a slow laptop. My trouble is when I downgrade doing a fresh reboot I install xp then I get the blue screen. Why is it not letting me downgrade to xp.

    most likely your hardware is incompatible i would install windows 7 how much ram you got?

    3GB DDR2 but it lags iv tried.

    What does the blue screen error message say?

    You probably need to go in to the laptops bios settings and disable AHCI / set the hard drive to operate in Legacy IDE if souch options exist.

    Why not upgrade to Windows 7, it will perform much better than XP does.
