    Dungeon Keeper II

This copy has had the disc security stripped out (DRM Free), so no more problems with the game failing to recognise the CD. It has been patched to version 1.7 automatically, with all three official Bullfrog bonus packs slipstreamed, as well as the map editor.

    Windows 7 / 8 Vista / XP Users
As you can guess, this game is old and designed for Windows 95/98 and not for the newer NT based Windows versions. If you have issues running the game like I did, I used the following Compatibility settings:

    OS: Windows 98
    Run as Administrator (Vista Users)

You can access these settings by right clicking on a shortcut and selecting the compatibility tab.

    Wine Users (Mac / Linux)
This game is confirmed working on the lastest build (0.9 at time of writing).

    Purchase Link:

Download Dungeon Keeper 2 Full Version 1.7
At only $5.99 for a fantastic old game DRM free, why not get it? :)

Big fan of Dungeon Keeper? Check out the successor War for the Overworld which is pretty much Dungeon Keeper 3 without the name, with Peter Molyneux's (original Dungeon Keeper developer) approval!

Download War for the Overworld on Steam

    Important!

Any posts below may be referring to the original unauthorised download which was all over the internet. People did this as you couldn't purchase the game anywhere and no matter how much fans asked EA/Bullfrog they wouldn't put the game up on Steam or anywhere to purchase. Well since the original post in 2008 it looks like they finally listened and released the game on GOG.com which is a fantastic site for buying old games, updated and DRM free. As such, we have taken out any links to unofficial copies people have referenced in the posts and added GOG.com links to the thread so you can purchase this game safely and legally!

The trouble shooting related posts however are valid and apply to the GOG version to (which is exactly the same, latest version DRM free) and should hopefully resolve any issues you have running this! Please do not ask us to restore any old links in people's posts, as now the game is for sale for the extremely low price of $5 with no DRM there is no excuse not to purchase! Anyone posting links to unauthorised or illegal copies of this game will find their posts deleted and account suspended.

    Installation

For those of you who are new to the ISO format we have provided a guide on how to burn it to a CD so you can use and install Dungeon Keeper.

Read the Digiex Guide to Burning an ISO

    DKII iso

Thanx for the iso but the file "DK2 Editor.exe" in location "Data\editor\" seems to be stuffed. The error "Data\editor\DK2 Editor.exe: The parameter is incorrect." comes up each time i try to install it. Any ideas??

    Hey Shifty,

I've had no problems with the editor myself. I'm running on Windows Vista as well, so if there is an issue, I would expect it to be that. Have you tried to download the ISO again incase it got corrupted? Or try reburning it again incase the burning failed. If that doesn't work, let me know some more details about your PC, Operating System, Hardware and try and get a screenshot of the error if possible.

Hi mate, I have downloaded and burned Dungeon Keeper 2. I use Windows Vista and when I try to access the shortcut once I have installed it the screen goes black for a few seconds as if it is loading, then it just resets to the desktop. I have re-installed and re-downloaded / burned but get same problem. I have ran the shortcut as administrator on Vista and still no game. Please help! Many thanks.

Change the compatibility to Win98. Even WinXP will work but Win98 seems to have the least crashes. Great game, I'm surprised I stumbled onto another forum that knows about it :P

You must be using some Download Manager, basically the login details are anonymous and downloaders usually try this before asking for more details.
If your client is asking for a username and password, enter anonymous and any password you wish and it should work.

It could always be that your Download Manager has tried to make tons of connections in a short space of time in which case you get an instant 60 minute ban for hammering the server. Try waiting that out, then downloading with your Web Browser and not a Download Manager.

odd..IE7(with IE7Pro), FF3, and Chrome are all asking for credentials and denying me. anonymous doesn't work either

IE7, Opera, and Safari on the lappy also not connecting.

unable to navigate the ftp server at all

oops, I missed the 60 minute timeout part..I'm sure thats what it is. thanks I'll try tomorrow.

first of all, thanks alot for uploading this game.

Unfortunately, I have some problems with installing the game, my computer (windows xp) doesnt recognize the file ISO, and how would it help burning it to a cd? Please help.

    Best regards
    - Manish

Trisha, it was a temporary lockout. download, unzipped, mounted, and its golden! On a side note it did not work when I used win 98 compatibility mode. It would freeze a couple minutes it. Plays perfect without compatibility mode.

Do you NEED to burn it onto a disk or is there a way to do it without burning?

You can always mount the image with a tool like DeamonTools or open the image and extract all the files if you wish :)
