So its that time of year again, E3 is here! What news / games do you like the look of so far? Crackdown 3: For me I think I was most excited to see that Crackdown 3 is coming, the game look totally crazy Halo Master Chief Collection: I think the Halo Master Chief Collection will be pretty sweet, simply for the Halo 2 Multiplayer. Halo 2 is by the the game in the series i enjoyed playing on-line the most over the years. I think having 100+ maps and access to Halo 1 - 4 will be pretty nice too, plus we cant forget the Halo 5 Beta access! Forza Horizon 2: I loved the first Forza Horizon, the game is a great balance between realism and arcade for me, plus even for an Xbox 360 game it had pretty good visuals. I think the second will look amazing in 1080p 60fps with dynamic weather, i think we will really start seeing what the Xbox One is capable off with Forza Horizon 2. Evolve: I actually got to play Evolve back in April at the Gadget Show Live, the game is fun to play and relies a lot on team work, so will be a nice co-op game to play on-line, not sure if it would be one of my must have games, but its one i'm interested in. Grand Theft Auto 5 will be released on Windows PC and Xbox One, in addition to PlayStation 4, this fall, publisher Rockstar Games announced today with a trailer. The ports will offer visual and technical improvements such as "increased draw distances, finer texture details, denser traffic and enhanced resolutions," Rockstar also clarified that the transfer of data from the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions to PC, PS4 or Xbox One applies only to characters and progress in Grand Theft Auto Online. (That data is saved in the cloud in the Rockstar Social Club.) Source
Retro title Grim Fandango is launching as a timed exclusive on PlayStation 4 and PS Vita, it was announced during today's Sony conference. The classic Tim Schafer title first launched from LucasArts in 1998, offering a dark comedy style within a neo-noir adventure game. Grim Fandango tells the story of travel agent Manuel "Manny" Clavera as he tries to save Mercedes "Meche" Colomar, a newly arrived soul in the land of the dead, during her journey. Game designer Tim Schafer has since confirmed on Twitter that the game will be brought to other platforms at a later date. "Talk about other platforms soon! Sony's been a great help making this happen & we're excited to be working with them on the console version!" Source I'm pretty excited about that, Grim Fandango is one of my favourite classic PC games
I'm super excited for all the Halo stuff they announced. This has pushed me to make sure I get an Xbox One before the Master Chief Collection drops so I can be playing it from day 1 (hopefully), and also play the Halo 5 MP Beta in december. IGN has pretty much all the Halo info covered from E3. Very interesting read, as is the IGN editorial on: The Real Reason Halo: The Master Chief Collection Exists and raises some interesting points. Either way the Halo 2 multiplayer was my all time favorite in the Halo series, so been able to play that again on the Xbox One will be pretty sweet!
