New weapons, new modes, and a whole lot of bombshells

This week, Epic showed off Gears of War 3's online competitive multiplayer for the first time, and there's a lot to share about what's changed, what's back and what the studio's philosophy is regarding online play. Most of the new information will make Gears of War fans weep with joy. But to understand why, you have to know what they've been through.

I lurk around on the EpicGames forums a lot, so it's likely I won't miss this good stuff.

I hope the beta is not too exclusive. After all, Epic should've learned from their mistakes after Gears 2 launched, veteran players know what I'm talking about. Slowly in about 2 years the multiplayer feel was tweaked to be more like Gears 1, piece by piece. And I'm sure a beta version will prevent this from happening again. After all, the game is all about the players.
