Hacked xbox 360

    I have a hacked xbox 360 and i need an media update to play xvis dvix avi WMV and all kind of those files but i cant go to live how can i update this

    and i also downloaded the latest update for xbox 360 from xbox.com if i run this update will it mess up my system?
