Half-Life: Decay was an add-on included in the Playstation 2 port of the game Half-Life. Just like the other Half-Life expansions Opposing Force and Blue Shift, this add-on was made by Gearbox. This add-on never came to the PC though, until now. A group of people have ported it to the PC. If you liked the old Half-Life games and want to know more about what happened in Black-Mesa, give this a try!

You can download the mod here: Half-Life: Decay

Half-Life: Decay was originally a co-operative game. You had to play with two players to finish the game. You can still do this in this port, however you can also play it in single player and simply switch between characters by pressing G. The game is basically the same as the other Half-Life games. You start off, not knowing what's going to happen and then everything goes wrong. You then have to find some weapons to defend yourself from the aliens dropping in.

Thanks for letting us know Assassin, Im downloading Half-Life from Steam so I can test it out sometime.

Have you played it yet? Just wondering if it’s any good.

I’ve attached a mirror of the download here as most of the links on the website hosting it were kind of slow.

It somewhat different from the other Half-Life games. First of all you can't save, because it's originally a multiplayer game. So every time you die you have to start the map over again, which can get frustrating if you accidentaly step on some hazardous stuff, killing you instantly. Also switching between the two characters can get a little frustrating if you both need to do something quickly. The game seems to have more of a level system, which, I guess, is because when you die you have to start over. They're not problems the people making the mod could help though, they just ported it. It seems like a nice extra, but don't expect a full new story. It's nice seeing some things return though. At the start you're the one pushing the cart with the sample up the elevator, and later on you have to go through the hazard course, fighting aliens. It's cool to get some more background information if you like the Half-Life story.
