help needed on xbox360 modding

Hi.....im new and was wondering if antone could help me to soft mod my sons xbox360 i dont know whereto start and what i need.....i recently soft moded the wii which was easy enough as i had good instruction on what to d/l and how to install...is there something simular for the 360

Read this here: http://jungleflasher.net/files/JungleFlasher.pdf you basically need to flash the dvd drive, if you want homebrew you need to have an old console with the 7371 dash, any console can be flashed though.

I am also looking for modding my xbox 360 Arcade. But I also want to play on xbox live. Can a modded xbox works on xbox live as i head that microsoft is banning modded xbox. Is it true?

One more thing, I haven't updated my xbox since i purchased it, thought microsoft might put more security or may make it hard to modded . Do I think right way?

Lastly, I heard there are many ways two mod a xbox...like dvd hack and some ppls use mod chips.... How do i know which will work for me?

A modded 360 will work on live, however you will end up getting banned sooner or later, You need to accept that before modding your console.

You can update your 360 asmuch as you want, however if the dash version is 7371 or lower you might want to look in to the jtag hack.

If you have updated past 7371 then all you can do is flash your dvd drive, again read the website i linked to above, it will explain everything about flashing.
