How do I connect my modded XBox to my PC to transfer files, pleases?

I have a modded XBox 360 (it's brilliant!) that I want to access via a wired LAN cable, to transfer files from my laptop to the 360.The 360 has Aurora and Xexmenu, and is working properly, but I cannot get my laptop to recognize the 360.

I have tried with two laptops; a Windows 10 laptop (with the Zone Alarm firewall), and an old Windows 7 laptop (with no firewall, that I use to use to connect (successfully) with my original XBox).

According to the 360, the settings are:

IP Address 192.168.0.28

Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0

Gateway 192.168.0.1



and I used the settings

Username: xbox

Password: xbox

Port 21

as described in the video at:

and I have installed the program 'Neighborhood'.

But when I run Neighborhood, and it asks for the I. P. address, then when I enter the I. P. address (which is the one the 360 displays), then Neighborhood just says that the I. P. isn't found.

I have tried using both FlashFXP and Filezilla, but both say that they cannot connect.

I don't think it's a firewall problem, as I have tried setting Zone Alarm on the windows 10 laptop to always allow FlashFXP and Filezilla to access outside connections, and when that failed I set them to 'Ask', so that Zone Alarm would ask me for permission if either of the programs tried to access outer connections, but there was no query from Zone Alarm, so apparently neither program managed to try access the 360.

Neighborhood doesn't seem to have even registered with Zone Alarm, so presumably Neighborhood didn't try to access the 360.

The Windows 7 laptop has no firewall (it's not been online since I reformatted it, so I didn't bother protecting it), so that's not the problem.

I have tried three different cables, one of which I used a short while back so I know it works, with no success.

By the way, which part of the 360's dashboard/related programs, should be on the screen when I try to access the 360 via my laptop? I have tried on the 360's official dashboard (when running the 'Keep Me' profile), on the Aurora main screen (with the row of game case covers), and on Aurora's FTP settings screen.


Any help, or links to good tutorials would be much appreciated.

What is the IP address of the laptop you are trying to connect from? (just trying to ensure they are on the same network to actually speak to each other)

You want to be using an FTP client with the details set on the Aurora's FTP settings screen, with Aurora loaded up on the Xbox 360.

That's what I have been doing, with the XBox's I.P. address, password and username (both of which are 'xbox'), and port (which is 21), but whether using FlashFXP of Filezilla, the laptop just won't see the 360.

The laptop should have its own IP address, if its the same as any other device on your network you will get an IP conflict and things will break.
On a home network devices generally need to be in the same subnet to see each other with a different IP address.

For example if the Xbox is 192.168.0.28 then the laptop should be 192.168.0.xxx

xxx should be anything from 1 to 254

Open "Command Prompt" and type ipconfig

It will list the laptops IP address on your home network.
