How to play Gears of War 3 system link (Now obsolete)

Ok , a lot of players having trouble getting Gears of War 3 ( retail ) to work on system link .
So , that's why i made this quick tut.

First of all :

Gears of War 3 does work on XBSlink , i have played a few games there with these configurations.

Update Sep. 26 2011 :
After intense testing on XLink Kai i have to say that Gears of War 3 only works on XBSlink.
If you can get it to work on XLink Kai , then please let me know in this topic .

Gears of War 3 does not use the normal network settings as other system link games.
It actually uses the ip & subnet of the Xbox 360 for system link.

Go to your Xbox 360 and to network settings ( Configure network ):

Enter as IP : 192.168.1.x ( x = your choosing )
subnet : 255.255.255.0
Gateway : leave it on 0.0.0.0

Also make sure that you change your 360's Mac adress :

On the 360 enter alternative mac adress : 00125Axxxxxx ( x = your choosing )

After you have done all this , start XBSlink & search for a game.
Have fun on Gears 3 !!!
