I know, don't you love that. You buy the damn movie and then you have to see the damn anti-piracy warning even though you BOUGHT the thing. They try to scare people into buying DVD's instead of just pirating. Though I know the Anti-Piracy is just a bullshit scare tactic.

(LMAO, a rented movie JUST ended and I got to see the anti-piracy warning.)

They may aswell make it a law where every blank DVD has the anti piracy advert on and remove it from legit copys of DVD's.

I agree that it is frustrating to have to sit through the anti-piracy screen on a legit copy of a DVD. I have noticed that blu-rays don't appear to force you to sit through that screen (at least not as often as on a regular DVD). I could be wrong though, but it's what I noticed.

Strange how anyone with a pirated copy will most likely never read that anyway as it gets removed.

Download XMBC for Windows, it has options to skip all that and take you straight to the DVD menu (Y)

I can confirm that most of the Blu-rays that I own only show anti piracy clips at the end of the movie. Some still show trailers or some crap before playing the movie but they can usually be skipped. I've actually seen more antipiracy statements or law messages in old movies such as The Thing, Full Metal Jacket and Falling Down for some reason....

That’s what I like about Blu-rays and HD-DVD’s you can usually press the menu button a few times and it skips all the rubbish instantly, even got a few HD-DVD’s that don’t show any menu and just start playing, you actually have to press the menu button to get it up.

Nothing beats just having a file, clicking on it and having it play instantly though.

I am beginning to love iTunes, I can download / rent stuff and not have any piracy warnings.

Digital distribution could be the way of the future.

Of course there wouldn't be anti-piracy warnings on Netflix via streaming as that wouldn't even make sense. Though it doesn't really make sense to have the AP warnings on DVD's either.

My guess is the notice is for people who illegally buy retail dvds from a flee market or something.
