Also if you have Windows 7 you can use the Vista installation.

    Is anyone using IE8?

Installed it on my PC and Netbook now and really like it, it appears to render pages a lot faster than IE7. It defiantly brings Internet Explorer a lot more up to date and will hopefully keep web developers happy as it complies with a lot more web standards.

I wasn’t really keen on the default layout, mainly the position of the favourites bar and the layout of the buttons on the right, however with a few customizations I’ve got it looking nice.

My only complaint is a lack of a spell checker, however I could easily install IE Spell so it’s not really a major issue.

I've been using it for a few days now. Seems pretty decent so far.
Haven't noticed a huge difference over the previous version though tbh.

Most people will tell you no way, I say try them both and see which you like best. IE has improved a lot with Version 8, its all down to personal preference though.

I have IE 8, FireFox 3 and Google Chrome installed, although I use IE 95% of the time.

Each browser has its pros and cons.

I think IE is fast, looks nice and generally gets the job done although it’s the cool thing on the internet to hate it. Never really found a good reason to switch.

I’ve always found Firefox to be quite slow and looks pretty horrible in its default state, although it can be skinned to look pretty nice and has a massive library of plug-in’s.

Google chrome is something new, its the fastest of the three and very minimal. I find its perfect for netbooks, the currently stable version lacks support for FTP downloads, you can’t press the scroll wheel down and scroll through webpages and there’s no support for plugins. Most of these problems will be fixed in the next version so that will be interesting to see.

I'm not totally sure what version of IE is on here but my friend recently got the same laptop as me and he was having problems going full screen in youtube (he was using IE). So I got on my IE and went to a page and it took forever to load up the page. While it was already starting to load up to even bring up the video, I was able to get on Firefox start the video watch the whole thing before IE even started to load the video. (Same exact video)

Wrong. FireFox can. In fact I prefer to use IE7 or 8 over 6. Not having the ability of tabs is a nightmare for me now. Such a useful feature to have especially if you have little room on the taskbar or hate grouped taskbar apps.

I have no complaints, WebPages seem to load significantly quicker compared to IE 7.
