With my newfound discovery of the xenon folder on download.xbox.com, I have made a scanner to find the list of known builds that still exist (somewhere) on the server using my previous 403/404 method. This is a complete list of beta and release builds from 7328 onward! (Don't ask for them I don't have them and the server doesn't have the su20076000_00000000 file, or we haven't found it yet, we also can't access ALL of these builds, just verify they exist.) Public releases are in bold 7328, 7335, 7342, 7343, 7347, 7349, 7352, 7355, 7356, 7357, 7363, 7371, 8473, 8478, 8482, 8483, 8484, 8487, 8488, 8489, 8490, 8491, 8492, 8493, 8495, 8496, 8498, 8507, 8939, 8944, 8947, 8949, 8953, 8955, 8961, 8964, 9177, 9182, 9185, 9187, 9189, 9195, 9197, 9199, 12111, 12125, 12126, 12145, 12168, 12188, 12209, 12274, 12278, 12330, 12340, 12341, 12353, 12365, 12377, 12379, 12384, 12387, 12392, 12394, 12399, 12402, 12404, 12408, 12413, 12416, 12546, 12551, 12558, 12560, 12565, 12567, 12573, 12574, 12575, 12581, 12583, 12587, 12590, 12595, 12597, 12599, 12603, 12606, 12607, 12609, 12611 Public Releases use a simple folder structure xbox-ht.dl.msecn.net/content/xenon/7357/0/0/system.manifest xbox-ht.dl.msecn.net/content/xenon/7357/0/0/FFFE07DF00000001.cab xbox-ht.dl.msecn.net/content/xenon/7357/0/0/FFFE07DF00000002.cab ect... Beta builds use a hashing structure that would take a few days to brute force per file. As with typical Microsoft content servers the characters in the hash are HEX, thus you have a limited range of [0-9][A-F] but that is 16^32 possibilities per file. The system.manifest file has 16^16 possiblities, but would not disclose the hash of the other files (possibly if decrypted). Apparently as of 12611 public builds no longer use the /0/0 structure.
I have packet sniffed the update process of my console updating to 12603 and found out where that update is saved on the Xbox servers, see the screenshot below. So the 12603 update can be downloaded from: Code: http://download.xbox.com/content/xenon/12603/su89433E9D8FC4B3B8FC5BBDDD943DE71FBED207E6.bin After that all you need to do is: Create a folder in the root of your Fat32 formatted USB drive called $SystemUpdate Rename su89433E9D8FC4B3B8FC5BBDDD943DE71FBED207E6.bin to su20076000_00000000 Place it in the folder and it will ask your console to update when the USB drive is inserted. Edit - I have packaged this up ready to update a console, can anyone confirm if the update is successful? Thanks Edit 2 - Nimrod and KingBurn say the update worked fine
Share the internet to the Xbox 360 from a computer with two network cards, one network card is required for the internet connection, the 360 will connect to the other. You then need to install and run Wireshark Start capturing packets on the network card the 360 is connected to. Then sign in to live and update your console as normal, your computer can packet sniff what is going on as the update progresses, as shown in my post above.
Ok, I figured it out when I saw the Wireshark screenshot. And if you have two network cards, it is easier to just bridge the connections. I found many interesting things with wireshark. Like the My Community Channel.
Ive never had much luck doing that, a bridge would be better for getting an open connection on Xbox Live, however for the purpose of packet sniffing either should do fine.
Nice i did that and managed to get the download URL for the update too. Now the question is can we can past updates? it appears that might not be possible as we need to know the file name of the bin file. (Or do we know that already?)
The public releases seem to be findable (aside from the su file), but I don't like these encrypted URLs. Edit: 12603 update worked, took away the live access I had tho ;( I shoulda probed more into finding the files for 12583. lol Edit2: BTW since you have a 102mb pcap, your pcap should have ALL of the urls needed to build a FULL bin (with avatars). While its too late coz I already updated, others can have non-ghost avatars
Here are direct links to everything my console downloaded during the 12603 update. I can not get them to restore, now I don't know if this is because I am using a USB drive as storage on the 360 and not a hard drive. (My hard drive already has the avatar files on it from when I updated on live this morning) Basically I have 1x USB stick configured for 360 storage, then another Fat32 formatted USB stick with the $SystemUpdate folder on it. If you haven't updated yet you can try downloading 12603avatar-test.rar, here is what is in that rar: All the files I have linked to above, with the following modifications done su89433E9D8FC4B3B8FC5BBDDD943DE71FBED207E6.bin has been renamed to su20076000_00000000 This file has to be renamed for the 360 to pick the update up I can confirm that much. Now on the update XboxHacker leaked with working avatars the following .cab files have no file extentions, so I have removed them. FFFE07DF00000001.cab renamed to FFFE07DF00000001 FFFE07DF00000002.cab renamed to FFFE07DF00000002 FFFE07DF00000006.cab renamed to FFFE07DF00000006 FFFE07DF00000008.cab renamed to FFFE07DF00000008 Xna_TitleLauncher.xex - Now I dont know if this is required or not, my console didnt download it when updating to 12603 so the one included in the rar is from 12416 that XboxHacker leaked, if it is required this is likely the wrong version of it anyway. If someone can try and update a console with 12603avatar-test.rar and let me know if you get the avatars back or not that would be great.
It should restore the avatars if you have updated, well that happens on the 9199 dash anyway. For me it doesn't work with the latest beta, i'm not sure if its because i'm using a USB pen for storage as mentioned above or if its because some files are missing... i'm guessing i'm likely missing a file.
it wont work because you already flashed the update, and microsoft wont let you reflash the existing version, for some stupid reason. however if it actually connected to live like 12583, we could emulate the xbox server and get it to work, but its too late for that, heh
