I just bought a xbox 360 slim with 4gb and its nice, and it came with a $50 gift card.I put the hard drive configured by hddhackr and playing the duke nukem demo now. I need one of those slim hard drive cases now and im set.
You dont need a slim hard drive case. my son bought a new slim at the weekend and i removed his 250gb Hdd from the case and plugged it in , a little bit of packing to stop it moving about and voila 254gb slim ! (not as nice as my 250gb Halo Reach console tho) Slim

look on this guide https://digiex.net/guides-reviews/c...b-sata-drive-work-xbox-360-xbox-360-slim.html and look for this picture on how to dissemble
lol check this screenshot out While looking @ xbox.com forums they claim that using a hard drive you paid for or came with a older xbox 360 and you dissemble it to use with the slim is against TOS.I call this saving money and time so you dont have to transfer game saves/dlc and everything else.
To be honest if you don't say anything on the official Xbox forums they will never know. Its just a good way for them to sell you the same thing again and make loads of money on it.
ive seen that thing on xbox forums quite a while ago around xmas if they wanted to ban ppl with flashed hdd they would of done it ms are more for security than people using hardrives plus i remember the datal update that just rended them useless so they would of done something like that if it was bothering them
Exactly, hacked hard drives were around long before the datel memory cards, if they could have done anything about it i'm sure they would have done by now. If anything hacked hard drives allow people to buy more content on live, so it allows all the people with the crappy storage on the 4gig slims or old 20gb premiums to use all of the 360's features.
