    Hello All,

When we first created the Oldie tag back about a year ago around this time, it was originally given to members who have been on the server for a long time, and went out of there way to help new and existing players.

As our server expanded and we lost track of the number of new people joining, the meaning of Oldie got lost and at some point we came up with the silly rule of staying in the server for over 3 minor versions (say 1.3, 1.4, 1.5) guaranteed you Oldie. Then with the recent long period between 1.7, 1.8 this got changed again to just anyone who's a good player.

I believe it's now time, after the events of yesterday where we had an massiveamount of new players and also grief groups joining all at once, where only one Admin was actually online and got quickly overwhelmed that we should bring the Oldie group back to how it was.

From today, no further Oldies will be promoted under the old systems, and instead the requirement of Oldie will go back to the original system:

    • Been on the server for at least 2 months

    • Gone out of there way to help new players, by helping them through the whitelist process and introducing them to the Cities and/or Freebuild/Wilderness so they can get started.

While the requirements are steeper, we will also look further into rewarding players with the Oldie status. As a start, we will begin to document and explain further the new commands that become available to an Oldie, as well as with the Migration Plan for Minecraft Final, Oldies will take priority on moving over before Players. Further benefits will be coming however, so please bare with us while we make the Oldie rank move worthwhile having, including faster coin generation and more. Also remember, to Gain Builder or Trusted rank or to gain SkyWorld access, being an Oldie before hand is usually a requirement.

For our current existing Oldies, regardless of how you earned it you will keep it. However, starting from now if you disappear (do not log in once) from the server for a period of 2 months or more, your lose your Oldie status and be reverted back to Player. You will have a chance to re-earn it, but it will not be instant. Special circumstances like Holidays or Illness will of course be taken into account. Though with extra long holidays it would be beneficial to let us know in advanced, instead of suddenly disappearing.

As always, please leave your comments, feedback and ideas below by replying :)

Has the donating way to become Oldie gone now? I reckon that if it was not mentioned in this thread then the money that ppl donate should be a little higher since so many ppl can earn $10 in maybe a few days or a week.

Oldie is totally unrelated to Donations now.
We changed donations a wild back and instead of getting Oldie+ you now get either Tier1, Tier2 or Tier3 subgroup with its own permissions. check out the Donations Tab of the Minisite for further information. Your main usergroup of User, Oldie, Builder, Trusted etc is now unrelated to your sub-group given by Donations.
