Pokemon X and Pokemon Y are coming to Nintendo 3DS worldwide in October 2013. This marks the sixth generation of Pokémon games. The first few Pokémon to be revealed are Chespin, Fennekin, and Froakie. At the end of the announcement trailer, you see two Pokémon, one that looks like a Bird and the other looks like a deer who you can assume are the legendary Pokémon.

The architecture and aesthetic of this game's Pokémon region appears to be based on France. Previous inspirations for the Pokémon games were various regions of Japan (Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh) and The United States of America (Unova).

Personally i think Nintendo has just ruined the franchise... the game looks very tacky and doesn't feel like a Pokemon game at all from watching the video of it. Pokemon is like Sonic and Worms, just stick to your roots which is 2D, it works better.

You're entitled to your opinion, but I can't wait for it. Sonic was ruined because they changed the game mechanics too much. The aesthetics have definitely changed over the years, but the game plays exactly the same.

Haven't people been wanting the Pokemon series to move to 3D for quite some time now? I personally don't mind the look of it, could be better but not having the same old boring static battle screens is a good thing IMO. This'll probably make me want to buy a 3DS now as well :)

I don't know... I think it looks cool but I still kinda miss the GBA/pixelated ones... The starter pokemons look cool too.

Sonic 06 was ruined because Sega rushed Sonic Team due to wanting Sonic 06 ready for Sonic's 15th Anniversary.

Still, the only playable Sonic game at its best is Sonic Generations and then you have Sonic Unleashed Day Stages + Sonic Colours (Sonic Unleashed 2 Day Stages Only). Sonic 4's gameplay is broken and inconsistent.
