So, I've been thinking, for one pound it's worth getting gold, but if the account has no credit (money) will Microsoft still active the rest of the other months, or will it ask to top-up it? I know it says it can be cancelled at any time, but you guys know more about this.
Since it's only the first month that would be the 1 dollar afterwards it would be like 8 a month or so. You can just get that one month and then remove the credit card if you don't want anymore afterwards. Say you have 5 dollars or so on a card, it takes 1 for the first month and when the next month comes around and it tries to take 8 and fails to do so, it will lock up your account from using it online and you can't even use it at all, saying that your credentials are bad. (This is how it used to be, not sure if it's changed at all). So in short, if you activate it on the 2nd, it will charge a dollar, when the next month comes around on the 2nd then it will charge again. When you add a credit card it does a recurring fee that charges, once a month every month.
I can remove my credit card if I don't want any more? So... Although I can remove my card, if I don't pay for the next months they'll lock up my Xbox LIVE account? Really, is this what you were saying? So weird. I really wanna buy that 2 pounds Gold Month now.
It can, just disable auto renew on Xbox.com after buying the 1 month gold, it will not renew then. In the UK anyway this can be done online, you used to have to call them up.
Cool thanks. My sister has a 12 Months Xbox LIVE Gold card sealed, I dunno if she's used it or not but I wouldn't mind using it instead if she won't. I'll ask and if not the one month will be what'll suit me.
