Record console gameplay through TV tuner

Hello, guys.

In a need for a cheap way to have an LCD TV I encountered an interesting piece of technology.

BOX DVB-T REC3 - LV6TBOX3SD

This thing is an external tv tuner, broadcasting digital video signal (perfect for my area) and can be a media center and can also record to a HDD/ USB device. So I guess this would work with a LCD monitor which I will use as a TV. However, the reason this is in the 'Console Help Center' is because I was wondering: if I'm gona use this very monitor to also play Xbox 360 I might be able to record the gameplay through the tuner to an external USB HDD. What do you guys think?

Almost forgot: the monitor should have two ports (2xVGA or 2xDVI) or just a Y splitter, so one connector goes into the tuner and the other one in the Xbox. The problem is, I do not know if it records what is displayed on the monitor or the video signal from the broadcast.

From that looks of it that will record from the antenna in only, meaning it will only record digital tv.

You want something like the Avermedia Game Capture HD to do what your asking.

The Game Capture HD will take a component input and record it to either an internal hard drive, or a usb one. It will also pass the feed through directly to the TV so you can play and record with no input lag. Normally if you record something and watch the feed you are recording (e.g. with a TV tuner) a delay will exist making it very difficult to play the game.

That is awesome. But I won't go for an expensive HD card; I thought it would be a nice feature for a TV tuner tho. However, I recently stumbled onto a cheap video capturing device:

Costs about 30 dollars in this local store and I was wondering if I could use it to record gameplay, perhaps in 480p or 720p, for sharing gameplays with my friends?

It will record in 480p.

These two will do what you're looking for and in high resolutions.

They're available on amazon and other sites too.
You'll just need to use a capture software with a preview mode to be able to watch your games.

Unless you have Digital Video Broadcasting (Terrestrial) transmission equipment on hand, you wont be using a DVB-T tuner to capturing video from your console.
Sorry to burst your bubble about USB easy cap devices, but the USB2.0 bus just doesn't have the bandwidth to capture even 480p video very smoothly. I have a few Composite/Svideo Easy Cap's around and I don't use them, in favor of an old PCI ATI TV Wonder card for capturing SD video.
