Ok, I had to register just to post this question, but the site looks pretty darn cool.

    NE WAY

I did the whole torrent thing, got it downloaded, opened up Roxio, popped in a CD-R, burned the "content" folder and the subsequent folders with it.

Popped it into the 360, it showed up in the demo screen, then black screeen(like most of you)

Then I re-checked this site and saw that most had burned the Resident Evil AND content folder, so I try this on another CD-R and get "Mixed media Disc" and nothing will start up, and no demo showing.

Do I really need to burn to DVD to get to work? I have a newer XBOX(11mo old)

Help! By the time I figure it out, I will be able to download it from Marketplace...lol

It will work on a CD-R however you usually end up with a black screen for a long while then the game should load (but very slow) I used a DVD-RW personally and it worked just like it was playing off the 360’s hard drive.

Use a DVD-R or DVD-RW, the content folder should be on the cd with the sub folders inside it, then finally the resident evil 5 demo file. Burn that, finalize the dvd and all been well it should show up and play, Remember you have to disconnect from live to play.

Well it took my 4 DVD-R's but it was worth it, I got the demo working. And now I'm goign to be super awesome for you guys and gurls who can't wait 9 days for the demo to come out properly.

    I present:

Zementh's Awesome RE5 Demo Guide using Nero

This is a step-by-step guide of exactly how I burned it and what made the demo work. Apologies if this sounds patronising and remember this is using Nero.

1: Grab a blank DVD, any DVD should do. I recommend RW cos you can rewrite to disc to try again.

    2: Open up Nero
    [IMG]

3: Click on the Rip and Burn tab and then on Burn Data Disc.

4: Select Data and choose Data DVD
    [IMG]

5: Click on Add and browse to your downloaded RE5 from the link provided in the beginning of the thread (I torrented it so I don't know if the other links are different, extract anything if you have to). When the new window pops up go into the first folder and then select Content and click Add. A second window should appear asking you to select again, click cancel on that one.

6: The Content folder should be displayed as below, click Next to continue.

7: Name the disc whatever you want, I kept it as the default "My Disc" and hit Burn.

8: Congratulations! You now (should) have an extremely awesome demo to play. Have fun!

Sounds like your Xbox doesn’t like the media your burned it on, did you use a CDR or DVDR?

I downloaded it and burned it but it won't work. My Xbox recognizes it as a multimedia disc but it doesn't show up in my Demos. I am currently using deepburner to burn my discs, I would like to use Nero but don't know where to find it for free.

CD-RW as you can always write over it again if you mess up.

You can get a trial of nero here: Nero - Trial Version although if you re-read through this thread I guess you should have no problems with deep burner.

    Finally Got It

Had to register and say thanks to InsaneNutter. Thank you for putting these files up for download. It took me a while to finally get it working. For anyone having trouble here is what I did:

    1. Download the file.
    2. Extracted rar. file by using WinRar program.
    3. Copied file to DVD-RW disc using express burn.

When burning the file to your disc, make sure the data looks like the screenshot InsaneNutter put up. The first folder should say "Content Folder". It should then have a few more folders inside of it and in the last folder, the actual Resident Evil 5 demo file should be in there. It should be about 430 mb (give or take a few). Make sure that you have the same setup displayed when burning the file to the disk. If you follow all the steps correctly, it should work. Thanks again InsaneNutter! The demo is awesome!

Yes if you follow the steps that InsaneNutter put up, it should work jsut fine. I also suggest that if you have trouble, read some of the other posts because I did and that helped answer questions I had.

    Dudes

To those who can't get this to work I will give you the easiest way that I found out. It took me a few hours to figure it out because I wasn't burning the file from the CONTENT location. Plus I had to use a different dvd software because all of the others wouldn't work. I downloaded 3 diff demos and they all work. Skate2, Res 5, and Ninja blade. The cool thing is you can erase the files or keep adding more to the same disc. After trying a few different programs I finally found an easy one that worked. Go to Cnet.com and get the Sonic record now program. It is a free trial so you only get like 50 trys or ten days. I am gonna have to find another program in the future to use. Anyway click data disk and make sure you burn it from the CONTENTS folder. If you are doing more than one file it will come up and say about it being the same name but that is ok because all of the files will be under the contents name, as you will see when you click on it. Click burn and once it is done put it in your 360 and play it from you game library. Thats it. It is actually easy once you figure it out. Peace
