The announcement is accompanied by a trailer which demonstrates the drift-based gameplay and store options.

Releasing as a download in 2013, players will have the opportunity to purchase car packs, boosters and repair kits from the game's storefront.

Taking the series in a new direction, last year's Ridge Racer Unbounded features basic and advanced editing suites, which enable players to build race tracks on a grid, add ramps, vehicles and obstacles, including giant dinosaurs.

Taking place in the fictional location of Shatter Bay, it featured the signature drift racing combined with fully destructible environments.

More than likely this Ridge Racer will be alike Ridge Racer Unbounded which played very much as a Burnout game, so if you hated RR:U then you this game isn't for you, though, it's free so at least it's worth a shot.

For a free game i will probably try it, however i likeed Ride Racer how it used to be, no as a burnout style like racer.
