If you enjoy independent websites like Digiex that are setup by people passionate about a certain subject, for example gaming, you need to help us and fellow webmasters out by contacting ICANN and letting them know you object to any release of personal information without a court order.

ICANN are responsible for domain names on the internet, under proposed new guidelines websites associated to "commercial activity" (e.g. simply having adverts the site to help pay the server costs) will no longer be able to protect their private information with WHOIS protection services.

Without WHOIS protection anyone in the world can freely look up the contact details of the person who owns a domain name. These contact details have to be valid otherwise the domain can be taken away from the owner.

We feel these proposed changes will greatly limit peoples freedom on the internet, discouraging many people from setting up websites on subjects they are passionate about in the future.

We hope many of our readers can take a few moments to do this and help not just Digiex, but many of the people behind other website you might also browse. Thank you.
