I figured I would share this tragic news with the couple of Slipknot fans I know we have around here. Apparently Slipknot bassist Paul Gray was found dead in his hotel room earlier today (May 24th). Gray had fought with alcohol and drug addiction through his career with Slipknot. It was announced earlier this year that he and his wife were expecting a child.
A hotel worker was the one who found Gray in his hotel room. While the cause of death is still under investigation, preliminary reports from the scene suggest evidence of a drug overdose.
I remember seeing Slipknot live last year and Paul was absolutely fantastic on the bass. This is truly a tragedy, and I can only wonder how the band will cope with losing him. Rumor was that they were working on a new album so who knows when it will get finished, if it gets finished, or if the band will even stay together. I'm sure they will do what they can to keep making music, it's what Paul would have wanted I'm sure. R.I.P. Paul, you'll be missed.

For things like this the poster needs to turn comments off.
