Title Update not applied, where do I go wrong?

This is what I do:

- Insert usb to xbox and format it
- Insert usb to pc
- Start xtaf
- Go to cache partition and then cache and select inject
- Browse to title update file
- Insert usb back in xbox and start Halo 3.

No update:-(

Do I have to remove the HDD and the internal 4 gb flash memory on my slim device to make this work?

clear the cache on the 4gb memory + the hard drive...this will delete all updates

already done, but no difference.

Tried with black ops and halo 3 since version number is easy to check in both those games.

you might need to place the update in the folder where gamesaves are

You need the title update with the same Media ID as the game you have, that's likely why it doesn't work.
