If anyone’s thinking of getting a Switch in the near future, currently any Switch on firmware 1.0.0 to 3.0.x is confirmed hackable with an ARM TrustZone exploit. This means you pretty much own the console like with arm9loaderhax on the 3DS. Currently you can't do anything except sit and wait if you have a console on a 3.0.x firmware, however hopefully in the next few months the Switch scene will take off and we will eventually be able to play games and have homebrew. If that's not put you off then Smyths (UK) seem to have older Nintendo Switch stock at the time i've made this post, like they did with the Wii U. Where as Amazon are starting to ship consoles on Firmware 4.0+ which isn’t hackable. I imagine within the next few weeks most consoles shipped will be on the later 4.0.x firmwares. Just don’t expect to be able to do anything with the Switch at present as theirs no CFW yet, which means you can’t update and play games (many games now have newer updates on the cartridge). Info from my purchase: Serial: XJA4002 Serial on device matches serial on box: Yes Region: EUR Firmware: 3.0.1 Color option: Grey Store: Smyths [smythstoys.com] Was a bundle (if yes, which): No Purchase date: 18/01/18 Theirs also a Switch Serial Spreadsheet which is kept reasonably up to date on what firmware's peoples Switches have come with. Good luck.
