Today, Wikileaks published a database of all of the data leaked from Sony Pictures in last year's hack, comprising 173,132 emails and 30,287 separate documents.

If you go here you can search the database: https://wikileaks.org/sony/press/

Search for something like "Xbox" in the database and you can get an insight on how Sony was thinking in regards to the competition.

I found it pretty interesting Sony have a timeline of various console hacks, presumably showing how long it took for a proper PS3 hack: https://wikileaks.org/sony/docs/05/docs/Hacks/PS3 timeline 7.txt

Also Sony comparing their digital content delivery to Microsoft / Samsung: https://wikileaks.org/sony/docs/05/docs/DECE/Sony and DECE v4.txt

The themes of this document are:
  • Sony is seriously behind the evolution of content delivery to digital packages
  • Sony's failing attempts to protect legacy designs.
  • Concern that Sony will withdraw support for DECE.
  • Sony should align with Microsoft, they are leading DECE specification development.

Sony has lost its technical lead to companies like Samsung and Microsoft that understand the importance of digital packaging. Digital content delivery is not just repackaged DVD media or redirected broadcast content; it is about creating a new experience.

It's a pretty interesting insight in to how things work at Sony.
