They should seriously update their codecs to play media encoded with this codec. All my most recent BRRip movies and TV shows are x264 and the 360 is just as good as dumb not to find them on my storage device.
The 360 does play h264 (x264 encoded), just not from the MKV container sadly and with some restrictions. 360 H.264 support: File extensions: .mp4, .m4v, mp4v, .mov, .avi Containers: MPEG-4, QuickTime Video profiles: Baseline, main and high (up to level 4.1) Video bit rate: 10 Mbps with resolutions of 1920 × 1080 at 30 fps Audio profiles: AAC, 2-channel, Low Complexity Audio max bit rate: No restrictions Personally I would get your self a Raspberry Pi - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia there about £30, this can run XBMC and will play any media file you throw at them. Or get a media player like this for the same price Sumvision cyclone micro 3 media player - White | Ebuyer.com again will play anything you want and is SLILENT, Bonus
I swear something has changed since the new/shit Dashbaord change. I used to be able to get .mp4 playing, now it doesnt.
For mkv video you can use my tutorial here. https://digiex.net/guides-reviews/c...ides/10565-how-play-mkv-video-xbox-360-a.html
Guys, I have downloaded Despicable me. The video information is attached. The 360 refuses to play it whilst it can play most h.264 videos with xvid codec. It is not mkv. Why?
