Glad I signed up for it last night then and didn't wait I guess now I hope I get picked for it

 

I'll try if I get in and there is anything worthwhile in the update. If it's JUST the new disc format update, I won't bother.

 

I guess the updated disc format will improve security as well as remove the 'DVD player' partition, and reduce the amount of system date in general, to increase the amount of data games can use. I remember that the current disc format only supports around 6 to 7 GB of the available DVD-DL space for game data. And with games getting bigger and such (and fallen security), I agree that a new disc format would be a good thing.

 

im guessing the update will be on this new disc xbg3 (Rumoured name) which adds 1gb storage new security usually blah blah just another road block that will be overcome in time just near the point that slims fw is almost released

Me and my brother both got in. I got the Live update and he got the Disk update.

Ya ive never played reach on this console I have it on my jtag but never been online with it i never bought a copy of it yet now looks like i wont have to

Any idea when they will be sending the disc or making the Update live for you Others?

 

You are still getting the disc. The only difference between Disk update and Live update is the method for which your 360 is updated.

 

This is the only thing i dont get. I am in the Xbox live Update audience and still havent got any news about it nor the update. I wonder whats going on or just that they are starting the program in a week i dont know. hope its soon so i can start decrypting the disc but i cannot give any info because of the NDA but anyways I AM EXCITED

 

as faras im aware i think the update may be bundled on that new disk they send out to testers
