• I'm part of the Beta Update Dashboard and received this update just now, but it seems to me it didn't change much or any by the looks of it, compared to the Beta Dashboard (probably the Beta Dashboard is now available for all, I guess).

 

• Now you can find all of your TV and Movies in one place—the previously separate Video and TV hubs have been combined into the new TV & Movies hub. In the new TV & Movies hub, you can browse the latest and most popular TV or movie content available from all of our app providers and search our entire catalog of TV and movies. You can also find and launch your TV provider’s app. (Worldwide rollout make take several days.)

• We now include a “Search the web for…” tile in our search results which links you directly to results for your search via bing.com. You will need to have the Internet Explorer app installed already for this to work.

• Black level problems in Xbox Video and Xbox Music have been fixed.

• Connectivity issues with some older model routers have been resolved.

• Network discoverability issues with some home wireless networks have been resolved.

• Wireless accessories for Rock Band and Guitar Hero that were broken in the last update have been fixed.

It'll mainly just be general bug fixes taken in from the Preview forums etc.

This new Dashboard isn't expected to be released to the public until around late 2012 or so, it won't have gone out to those not in the Preview, they'll still be on 2.0.15574.0, Microsoft/Major Nelson usually makes an announcement if a new Dashboard update is coming out for general availability, can't see any.

Ah, thanks for the info guys, I really wasn't sure and DRO's list sure is a lot more informative than what I gathered from Wikipedia.

The black levels have been corrected? Awesome!

 

Im sure most of that stuff was already there in the first update.

 

I noticed today when I logged to my US Xbox LIVE account that TV and Films were joined however, the UK Xbox LIVE is still separated, I suppose within time they'll merge them.

The new dashboard that was released yesterday, I noticed they got rid of the bar with Active Downloads and joined it with Games. Didn't see anything different than this.

 

Yeah they merged the "Marketplace" options into the "Games" Guide button section so there's only 4 blades now.

Also they gave a new icon to "My Apps" and fixed some text overlapping the store icon in the "tv & movies" area.

Probably fixed other less noticable bugs or stuff behind the scenes.

Got mine today Wonder whats new on it.

 

Achievement boxes are no longer green. They're white now.

New update 28-8-12

 

Not sure if this is specific to this new revision (2.0.16145.0) but you can now turn off displaying your Live ID on the top right of the Dashboard, go to:

Settings > Account Security > Display Microsoft Account > Hide

I can see why people wouldn't want it there & glad they put the option to hide it.

It's annoying that now the Silver members can't even download the Apps from the marketplace. Damn, but at least I had them on my Download History so I got them back. Just so when I'm Gold again I won't have to download everything at that time.

 

I also noticed that old games/demo don't even now have a cover like they used to. I kind of like it, because they didn't had a decent cover to begin with.
