I thought this might make an interesting topic of discussion, let’s see who’s a seeder and who’s a leecher ;)

My uTorrent statistics since April 2008:

I’ve uploaded a lot more than I thought.

To find out you ratio in uTorrent go to Help > Show Statistics, In Azureus double click the ratio button in the bottom middle.

    Wow, nice upload ratio there!
I guess I'm more of a leecher (sorry for Dutch, you should be able to make it out though):

The thing is, with big torrent sites like isohunt or mininova, I don't really bother seeding, since there's usually enough anyway, but for smaller torrent sites if I'm looking for specific files only available there I do take the time to contribute to that community and I always try to keep my ratio atleast above 1.00 on those sites.

Thanks, same for me.. I don’t really use public torrents just a few sites where members can request and upload their own caps of TV shows.
I find them really useful so seed back where I can, If you don’t you get banned from the site anyway lol.

In torrent terms seeding is uploading and leeching is downloading. Your ratio is calculated by how much you have uploaded and downloaded.

For example if you uploaded 1gb and download 1gb your ratio would be 1.0 which is good, you have shared back what you have downloaded.

The bigger the ratio the better as you have shared back many times what you have downloaded making it faster and easier for other people to complete the download.

My ratio's 0.5 :) Not my fault tho, I've left about 10 legit torrents seeding, they just never seem to get downloaded.

Wow, I don't have a ratio. The first torrent I've ever done was warhammer and I didn't even do it. I didn't know how. Lol :P I had to get Insanenutter to help. Though Insane and assassin, have some very good stats!
