Well it was working till about 5 minutes ago when I was playing reach then the screen was going green in parts. I turned my xbox off then I go to turn it on and: Is it salvageable?
well I couldnt see the video but sounds like E-74 or 3RRoD if its never been open and repaided before then yes it is fixable after the first repair its 50/50 it will work/work for a short/long time, I'm sure you don't want to ship it to me but I do thous repairs. its a easy repair to do yourself just as a Idea.
Its easy to fix I recomned drilling out the metal casing for the screw's and putting them through to the heatsink's and for the spacer's use 3 metal 1mm thick washers with a 1mm thick nylon/plastic washer on each screw for the bottom Metalx24 Nylon/plasticx8 for the top 1 nylon/plastic 1mm thick with a metal 1mm thick washer on top thats another nylon/plasticx8 metalx8 for total nylon/plasticx16 metalx32, I like to get 2mm thick Nylon for the top in that case its only 8 and i do the bottom of the board the same,
The video is private. If your gonna fix it yourself check out this page and Secondary Error Codes Like BigRod said its easy to do just depends whats up with it , and you say "the screen was going green in parts" that 'may' mean your gpu chip needs reballing.
Remember if the console is less than 3 years old you can send it back to Microsoft for a free repair with the RRoD and I think the E74 error, either way I would think the console is salvageable.
