Just bought, played and finished the first Tales of Monkey Island episode and I love it! Everything that made the older games great is back. Same art style, same humour, same voices, it's great! Has anyone of you played it as well? You can get it on Steam for 32,99 euro. You can play the first episode now and you can play the remaining four episodes when they get released each month. If you buy the game before July 14th, you'll get the first Wallace & Grommit episode for free. I can't wait untill next month for the next episode. Don't read unless you finished the episode: Spoiler I wonder who the woman behind Guybrush is. Seems like she knows him so I'm hoping to see a familiar face. I'm guessing it's Carla.. What I didn't get though, was after all the trouble he had with his hand on the ship, why would he still go after Ellaine first and not go to that other island to get that sponge? Well that's Guybrush I guess..
Would you say its worth playing if you have never played the other games in the series? I’ve heard about these games for many years, well since the days of me having an Amiga 500 but can’t honestly say I’ve ever played any of them.
I read the spoiler part since I know I'd never play it. It seems like you might not be able to entirely enjoy the story without playing the other/older ones.
Yes, you will enjoy it. I only started playing the games with Monkey Island 4 myself. And if you like it and want more, you can easily find the first 4 games anywhere online.
To be honest: I really liked/laughed at the previous part (escape from MI) but this... well... hmmmm..... it kinda sucked. Sorry. And what happened with Guybrush? I don't recall him with a goatee? The whole design of the new game is totally whacked! Bring the old Guybrush back!!!!!!!! *snifff*
I have never played the old games, but I may give this a try to see if it is worth going back and playing the older ones.
I bought this on XBLA, loved it back in the days of PC gaming. Sadly the demo sucked as it showed the most boring part which is most likely damaging sales.
