One way to get round it would be to use a proxy.
Just do a bit of googling and find an open proxy in the USA and set your internet browser to use it.

I hate that block and I don't understand why it's there, does anyone have any information about it?

Assassin: If you look through the other videos on the list you can usually find another version of it hosted by someone without the block on.

Blocking other countries from watching TV content online is usually to do copyright or broadcasting restrictions, I have often found this annoying when trying to view some trailers for Lost and Prison Break on TV.com. The BBC block anyone from using the BBC Iplayer who does not connect to it from a UK based IP address... I don’t agree with it either... anyone who wants to get around the block could so it’s just annoying if anything.

As bad as it sounds it would actually be easier to download a torrent of what your wanting to watch most of the time.

The only way to get around this is to use a proxy as Nimrod previously posted, have you had any luck finding one? If not I might be able to help you out.

If you have a proxy I could use that would be great. It sucks though, that you have to go through all that trouble just to watch a video.

I’ve got a server in Canada, I was going to set an account up so your could use it as a proxy. I’ve just tested it on that website and it doesn’t appear to allow Canadian IP addresses either, sorry about that I’ve used it in the past with other US websites and its worked fine. If i come across any proxy’s in the USA that will go faster than 1 or 2 KB a second ill let you know.

And they still don't understand why some people download TV shows! [Rant] Yes Mr TV show exec/producer and marketer etc etc, I don't mind waiting up to 6 months for a TV show to air in my country, edited and with commercials. Nothing would please me more than to look up my favourite shows on the internet and have them ruined with spoliers all because it somehow took you a long time to hop it across an expanse of water![/Rant]

Where are you from? I’ve never heard of TV stations blocking people recording stuff.

If your using a computer to record tv as far as I’m aware if you can view the show you can record it.

I've also never heard of that. As here you can even record those PPV channels. Including Adult ones. ;)

I think it is possible, just very very difficult. Don't sky do something like that?

As to accessing these sites, just use a university proxy, they're high speed and reliable.

I think it would be pretty easy for a company like Sky to block customers who have the Sky+ and Sky HD box’s from recording stuff, just include some information with the program guide that tells the box to not allow people to record it. You could easy get around it by plugging the skybox in to another device that can record. I can’t see why they would do this though, it kind of defeats the point of been able to what programs anytime you want... but who knows.

It’s not like the program won’t be on the internet to download anyway.

It's so cool that the internet is still a bit like the wild west in the sense that things like proxy's are available so that we can keep the man off our backs!<:o)

there are plenty of sites that host TV shows. i never watch them at the actual station website (like NBC.com) because they add commercial breaks.

ill find some links tonight that have pretty much every TV show known to man available to watch. i used to use a site that was based in the UK, but it went down a while ago.

do you have netflix? you can watch all seasons of the office in very good quality from netflix.com.
