Left 4 Dead DLC Information

In the latest issue of OXM (Official Xbox Magazine), there was an article about the upcoming DLC for Left 4 Dead. It says that ther other two campaigns (Dead Air & Death Toll) will playable for multiplayer. Also, despite old rumors, there is going to be a new campaign called The Last Stand. There is also going to be a new Survivial game mode. Think of it as a Left 4 Dead version of Gears of Wars' horde mode. There will also be new character dialogue. No new weapons are coming but there was the slight hint at maybe a new Special Infected or two. I don't know about you guys but I am looking forward to this! No word yet on whether this will be a free update but there were some rumors in the past that the first update would be free. I'll post more info as I find it, but if anyone knows something I didn't mention, by all means share!

The new Survival game mode sounds interesting, it would be pretty fun to be trapped in that house on the level where you sail off on the boat and have to defend off waves and waves of zombies. A new campaign would be nice too, the game is gret to play though a couple of times.

The game needs more multiplayer modes as there’s basically co-op (awesome with 4 people) and that mode where you’re a zombie and you have to kill the people playing co-op which is horribly boring.

I don't even think i'll get the DLC even if its free. I bought the game first week it was out and was bored of it within two days.

Did you get on the 360 or for PC? Did you only play the single player? If so play it with a few friends. I found it way more enjoyable with humans than bots on single player.

I did both. I still didn't really like it. The major problem I had with the game is when you get hit in the back one time it slows you down to a near stop.
There was also very few weapons and I like having a big variety of weapons.

It's really not that big of a deal. You get used to it eventually but if you don't like it not much to do. It is not really for everyone. I admit I didn't like it when I first played it.

When I first played it, it was the demo and I thought it was pretty rubbish. I still had faith in Valve and bought the game hoping it would be better and with the Vs Mode and the 4 maps I was verry happy with my purchase. Guess people have different tastes. I can see how the game can seem repetetive for some but it just doesn't feel that way to me.

I've never had any trouble with it on any other game. Only L4D. Some people take that game too seriously.

So now that the DLC is out, here is my review on it:

The Survival pack is a great add-on, and even better, it's free. The Survival mode makes the game much harder than most will be used to. This is a similar setup to Gears of War 2's horde mode. The player is set against an onslaught of zombies and boss infected. You are scored on how long you and the other players can survive. You are awarded medals based on how long you survive. Bronze for 4 minutes, Silver for 7 minutes, and Gold for 11 minutes. This is a good way to earn enough kills for the zombie genocider achievement. You can rack up around 200 kills within 4 minutes. There is a new campaign, but not really. It's called Last Stand, and the level you play on in Survival is at a lighthouse. I hope that they make a whole campaign out of this in the future, but overall nice job Valve. Great add-on and it's the best four letter F-word: FREE (ok maybe second best )
