    Hello,

I recently found this forum and have been interested in using the files to get rare Pokemon.

With save files - .sav - everything seems straight forward. Just load the save in an emulator and trade. Here is an example thread containing saves with many rare Pokemon.

But what are .pk3 files? How do I use/apply them? Do I use them to modify existing save files? Here is an example thread containing .pk3 files.

Also, is it possible to use distribution cartridges using an emulator? I know the receiving system has to hold Start and Select at the GBA boot screen. I've never seen an emulator show the GBA boot screen, so I wasn't sure if it's possible to use a distribution cartridge using an emulator. Here is an example thread containing distribution cartridges.

Thank you to everyone who has been a part of putting together all these cool files!

    Welcome to Digiex.

pk3 files are generation 3 Pokemon extracted from a save game using PKHeX, you can simply open the save game you wish to use the Pokemon in with PKHeX and drag the pk3 file in to one of PC boxes, that .pk3 Pokemon is then available in the save.

It is possible to use the distributions on an emulator, someone has posted instructions here: https://digiex.net/threads/pokemon-...ownload-eng-fre-ger-ita-spa.14897/#post-76848 I do personally find it easier to use real hardware though.

Hopefully that is of some help and you can enjoy these event Pokemon from years gone by!
