Hi guys! Recently i discovered my PSP1000 in the attic after 15 years. The system version is 3.80 M33-5. I tried to play some games that i had on the memory card and it just froze on the white screen of death[IMG] . I tried everything. I disconnected the UMD, i selected from recovery menu everything to make it work and also disabled everything. I factory restarted it with the combination Triangle + Square + Start + Select and i had to select the language, and everything like it was brand new, after that, the same white screen of death. I changed the memory card and the adaptor, nothing. I wanna do something with this PSP, not just throw it away. I dont know if its bricked or not because everything works fine except that i cant run anything on it. Below is an image with the screen that is annoying me for 2 months already.

If both the memory cards you have are 15 years old its possible they are both failing or are corrupted. I've seen this issue with some very old SD cards I have recently, they worked to some degree but when formatted new data couldn't be written to them and existing data couldn’t be read correctly, so no games worked.

I'd probably get a new memory card to rule that out.

If you still have issues then update the PSP to the latest CFW, this is a guide from the last time I updated my PSP, which in all honesty in a long time ago now: PSP 6.61 Custom Firmware Install on any PSP - PSP, PSP Slim, PSP 3000, PSP Go & E1000 - 6.61 is the final PSP firmware though.

This looks to be more up to date CFW: Installing ARK-4 CFW - ConsoleMods Wiki however looks to be a similar way of installing the CFW.

If you suspect the SD cards you have might be corrupt i'd get a new one before attempting to update your CFW.
