Right I know this will probably not work but someone told me that they set there xbox date to 20/11/2008 plugged in the ethernet and clicked connect to live it let him connect and download the further update of avatars and stuff. I only reccomend trying this if you have a spare console and know...- DyNaMiiXx

Unplugged mine now tryed to connect to live once/twice but that was before i was aware of the situation, I'm sure ill be fine btw to get the propa update on the 19th you will have to use the same method as this but just donwload from xbox.com- DyNaMiiXx

Anyone who's having problems with the disc method, use a burning program not just the deafult windows one. I used Nero Burn Rights, clicked create a data dvd :D- DyNaMiiXx

What operating system you running on. If you got vista you might have Nero burn rights on that. Open in up and click create Data Dvd, drag the file to it- DyNaMiiXx
