If you play PC games with an Xbox 360 controller, or use the headset or the Wireless Gaming Receiver on a PC, this is Microsoft's own driver package for them. It lets Windows recognise the accessories properly and adds the button-mapping and vibration settings.
Download:
Download Xbox 360 Accessories Software 1.2
Unzip it and run Xbox360_64Eng.exe on 64-bit Windows, or Xbox360_32Eng.exe on 32-bit Windows. Not sure which you have? Right-click Computer (My Computer on XP), choose Properties and look at the system type. Run the installer first and plug the controller or receiver in afterwards, then let Windows finish setting it up.
Tip: for a wireless controller, press the connect button on the receiver and then the one on the controller. The lights spin and then settle on the first quarter when they've paired.
