Anyone writing payloads for a jailbroken PS5 will want ps5-payload-sdk. It's a cross-compiling toolchain built on clang 18 and lld 18, with the system headers and stub libraries and helper scripts such as prospero-clang, prospero-cmake and prospero-meson. A win folder holds the Windows versions. It's known to work with ELF loaders including ps5-payload-elfldr, ps5-payload-websrv, bdj-ipv6-hen, the elfloader via ps5-jar-loader and remote_lua_loader. Some of its files come from the PS5SDK project.

New in 0.43 (29 August 2026):

  • crt: payload_args->payloadout is now optional
  • crt: adds kernel_iommu_copyin() and some convenience functions for it

  1. On Debian or Ubuntu, install what it needs: sudo apt-get install bash clang-18 lld-18 wget (and, optionally, socat cmake meson pkg-config python3 python3-pyelftools). The project page has the Fedora commands.
  2. Unzip it somewhere, for example /opt, and set PS5_PAYLOAD_SDK to the ps5-payload-sdk folder.
  3. Build a payload with the prospero-clang tools or with CMake, then send the ELF to a PS5 that's already running an ELF loader. On ps5-payload-elfldr that's port 9021.

Project page: github.com/ps5-payload-dev/sdk. Other ps5-payload-dev tools on Digiex: elfldr, websrv, ftpsrv, shsrv, klogsrv and gdbsrv.
