Call Of Duty 7 release date - November 2010

VG can confirm that Activision has pencilled in a November release for the seventh Call Of Duty - which will be set in the late 1960s, during the Vietnam War.

Following this week's rumours, a senior UK trade source today told us that the Treyarch-developed title is scheduled to arrive a full 12 months after last year's Modern Warfare 2.

They added that the game would be set during the Vietnam conflict - and takes particular influence from classic movies Apocalypse Now and Platoon.

"It's going to be November again - just as with World At War and Modern Warfare 2," they told CVG.

"Activision believes that it can own Christmas 2010, just as it has in the last two years.

"Development is on course - and Treyarch have been told the game must be ready to hit shelves before the gifting season."

Activision declined to comment when contacted by CVG.

I am actually looking forward to this installment of CoD. I enjoyed the brutality of war that Treyarch brought to World at War. I had been hoping that this next game would be set in the Vietnam war. I think if they improve on the engines that were used in World at War, this Vietnam game will be a great advancement for historic war games.

I don't really care anymore, i'm slowly drifting out of the Call of Duty games, too much of the same thing, I want something different.

Treyarch (partially) developed the Quantum of Solace game so there's still hope yet.

Quantum of Solace is great game, I dont really play the Call of Duty games I just know a lot of people go crazy for the ones done by Infinity Ward...

I dont just see why Activision do one Cod game every 2 years... it gets a bit boring having a new version of the same game every year. But yeah i know they want the money so just churn one out regardless.

Well now there are three studios that will be producing Call of Duty games it seems. I forget the new of the new studio, but apparently they are going to be developing Modern Warfare 3. This is not all that surprising because Infinity Ward stated that they wanted to make a different kind of game before tackling Modern Warfare 3. Looks like Activision is not going to wait around for IW; they want their money I guess.
