With the latest Backwards Compatibility files (v5832 April 2018) I'm having difficulty playing Psychonauts; My Xbox 360 with RGH freezes at the original Xbox loading screen (white background with green X). I tried three different sources for the Psychonauts game (NTSC version) and they all give the same freeze. Psychonauts should work perfectly with both the original and the latest hacked Backwards Compatibility files. Other Original Xbox games work fine on my 360. Could I try anything else?
Do you have any Dash Launch plugins installed for stealth servers and such? these can cause issues with backwards compatible games. Id suggest disabling any Dash Launch plugins you might be using and try then.
Thanks InsaneNutter for your quick reply. I checked Dashlaunch and no plugins are loaded. I've copied the "Compatibility" folder from the v5832 BC files over to my HDDX partition once more. Same issue - actually, it doesnt freeze at the white/green Xbox screen, but goes black after that, "(profile) signed out" popup shows for a moment, and then the console reboots into Aurora.I should have been more specific. Now I've redownloaded the v5832 files, transferred them, and still the problem remains.
Yeah, most other Xbox games work fine. Today I tested Flatout, Halo, Black, Forza Motorsport, Operation Flashpoint: Elite, and they work fine. (GTA San Andreas didn't work, but that might be another issue) I've tried FOUR sources for the Psychonauts game. One of them I couldn't extract (corrupted iso?) and the other three extracted fine, but all failed to load. The size of the extracted games match (4.132.906.585 bytes (4,13 GB on disk) for 518 items) so I don't think it's a problem with the source files. If there's anyone else with v5832 and *working* Psychonauts?
