Discussion: Fall Dashboard 2012 Beta Sign Up's, Discussion and News

Found it.Lady's and gents, the pre-release update and ie app. Use usb stick to put on your xbox 360 but you still need your account flagged as beta to use the update. Dont know if anyone has some use for this but i tought, lets put it out in the open ;)

Sorry , this is already been posted on Digiex here and here .

The pre-release update app is console locked and will not work on other consoles.
 
damn, tought i was first. Well, its out there now so you can download my or other versions :) And id, you need a flagged account to get inside the beta :(

Looks like most of my dashboard looks kinda the same (living in the netherlands and all), only 2 blocks are different. Is this the personalized touch microsoft's aiming at?

Nice screens, just two questions:

1: What exactly are 'pins' for. Are these like favourites?
2: What can you or Microsoft possibly accomplish by naming your console? :D

1- Favorite your games, url favorite's etc.
2- No idea actually

Yeah. Let's say you like.....The Gears Of War 3 Demo. You go to the marketplace, "Pin" the demo and then you go to "my pins" in the dashboard and It'll be there "pinned". It's like a shortcut.

I also found something about Closed Captioning in the System Settings.

And something else about Smart Glass :D
 
The new dashboard looks superb I can't believe how much better it is from the current Metro Dashboard, WOW!

Pins' feature is an excellent addition as it allows to pin what you want, right now I have pinned Dragon Ball Z For Kinect and FIFA 13 to not forget to check for any update info/data.

Although, it looks very much as a tablet the New Metro Dashboard, I really like it! Kinda makes me wanna go up to the TV and touch it as if it's a touchscreen. :P

By the way, at this point Xbox 360 is no longer a gaming console but a system that serves Video | Audio | Gaming | Social. It's a console but it's more of a system than a console now.

Edit: Slaz, yeah you can name Xbox 360 to whatever you desire.
 
Okay I got the Dashboard too now.

It indeed looks more fluid than before. It might need some more personalization options but IE and the fact that you can pin and view some webpages now and access them right from 'Home' is pretty cool! ;)
 
Just a quick question to all the other new dash users, do your xbox classics (max payne 1/2, stubs the zombie etc) still work? Cause i cant get mine to start :(

Strange,cause i am in the beta (officialy) and i do not get the updates when inserting a disc like conker bad fur day or a game on demand version (max payne 1/2 and stubs the zombie)... Disc didnt work eater btw, got a dvd page instead of the default.xax loading (something done in the dvd firmware? Im running a legit xbox, non-jtag, not flashed or anything and its not banned, got a gold account so all should work)
 
Anything new? i guess its just bug fixes and stuff?

Done the survey and told them what i think of all the adverts on the dashboard anyway.
