Does anyone know of a tutorial on how to extract the dashboard from either the hard drive or by using wireshark.

You can packetsniff the updates with Wireshark, see my basic post on how to do this with Internet Connection Sharing: https://digiex.net/general-discussions/gaming-hangout/7041-known-360-builds-ms-server.html#post35830

You can only do this when your console has an update to download however.

For the dash update you are looking for the SystemUpdate.bin file, for example:

In the above example the download link for that would be

Code:
http://download.xbox.com/content/xenon/12603/su89433E9D8FC4B3B8FC5BBDDD943DE71FBED207E6.bin

I will explain more if required when home from work tonight.

You will only be able to capture the system update when your console actually updates, i still have my other console which ive yet to power on since enrolling it in the beta so should be able to capture it on that.

You can get the the addresses of the streaming videos on the dashboard though, there just standard windows media so play fine on a Windows PC too.

I have deleted the updates and re downloaded the update again. I will send you the txt file with the web addresses, gotta catch some sleep lol.

Good work, enjoy your sleep ;)

You get everything expect the su[random-numbers+letters-here].bin file which is the actual system update by doing that.

Ill try get that on my console that has not updated yet.

Maybe after deleting the update it doesn't retrieve that file. I can't find it in wireshark.
