About Halo 3:

The Halo 3 Public Beta ran on Xbox Live from 16 May to 10 June 2007, open to owners of Crackdown and to players invited by Bungie. It had three multiplayer maps from the finished game, Valhalla, High Ground and Snowbound, and drew more than 800,000 players.

Note: The beta ended in June 2007 and no longer starts on a retail console: it shows a black screen and returns to the dashboard. It is kept here for collectors and for anyone who wants to look through its files.

How to Install:

This beta is not a Marketplace package, so it cannot be installed to the dashboard like the other demos. Extract the zip to see its files: default.xex, the maps folder (one map file for each level) and the sound and video folders it loads.

4. Configure a USB memory stick to be used as Xbox 360 storage

Well it'd be pointless to even try it offline because its a multiplayer Beta. The best burning program would probably be Nero 9.

Yes DVD-R's work fine.

alright i got the rar do i just burn whats inside the rar? (like ill extract the files in a folder) and WHAT SPEED should i burn it at like normal etc?

Yes, burn whats inside the RAR file. 4X speed would be a good speed to burn at. Burn it as a data disc.

alright is Nero 7 Essentials alright to use? cause i cant afford Nero 9 right now

also the dvd im using ia a Maxell DVD+R is that ok?

i burned it and tryed it on xbox it doesnt reconzie the disc.. HELP!

It’s impossible to load this anymore so don’t waste any DVD’s on it, if the 360 was hacked some day it would most likely be possible to load this up and modify it so people can play about with it.

At the moment its useless.

Did you burn it as a Data DVD disc? Also there is a free 30 day trial for Nero 9.

ya i burned it as a data DVD and used 4X for Speed

Yep same here, I still have my copy of it on my 360’s hard drive and backed up on my pc.

It would be interesting to look back one day and see what changed, I’ve also got quite a few replays of some of my first Halo 3 games it would be nice to watch again.
