HDDHACKR compatable with WD Scorpio IDE drive model BEVE; confirmed

Will require a 44-pin female IDE to 22-pin sata adapter, of course, but other than that it's SOP for this delicate....cheese...procedure.

Just finished updating from an original Hitachi 20 gig to a sweet, sweet 250 GB WD, er, Hitachi, I mean. HDDHACKR was a little cranky backing up my save game files for Oblivion and Fallout 3, had to transfer the save files manually for those two games. Probably something to do with the 1+ GB nature of each.

And before anyone asks, I did it because I could afford the $12 adapter, but not a $49 hard drive. My life is just that sad these days.

All is well

Three days with no hiccups using this drive. Full backward compatibility, and no problems with either Halo 3 or ODST, both of which gave me no end of hell when I played them originally from the DVD using the original (manu ca. 2005) HD. At one point, ODST even bricked my system for several hours, rendering the HD unreadable. Many thanks to all those individuals who coded, hex-edited and tutorialized this procedure. Many thanks indeed.

Glad you can even use an IDE drive if required, good way to save money it would appear if you have a compatible WD IDE drive about.

Well, Nutter, if it wasn't for all the hard work and diligence of those like yourself, guys like me would have an IDE HDD just sitting around and going to waste. And thank God for dongles!
